Planning a Winter Wedding?
October 11, 2011 at 3:11 pm (Uncategorized)
Winter is a wonderful time of year to bring out the natural beauty of outdoors into your ceremony and reception. Bouquets of evergreens, pinecones, and berries with or without flowers are great for the bridal party. Centerpieces of tree slices, greens and candles add that romantic touch. Small thin bare trees with candles or white lights lining the aisle or in clusters in venue corners bring the outside in. Natural paper invites, napkins tied with twine, and twigs and greens on chandeliers are a few ways to make your day rustic and wintery.
Colors to use for this season are the usual red & white, burgandy, charcoal gray & midnight blue.
If you are looking for more elegance and glitz use touches of crystals, silver or gold. Bouquets with a mix of greens holly, flowers and a rich ribbon. A mix of short and tall centerpieces of shades of cream and white with wonderful containers and mounds of candles. Crystal trees, and bowls of ornaments even if wedding is at Christmas.
Think about what your vision is for your special day and give me a call to help those dreams come true. With personalily and imagination the ideas are endless…have fun and be creative!

Reppart/Lothridge Wedding
January 6, 2011 at 1:49 am (Uncategorized)

On December 23,2010 at 6 o’clock in the evening Marie Lothridge and James Reppart were united in marriage at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Laurens, SC. It was a beautiful candle lit service for special family and friends. The church was decorated with large trees covered in crismons and cream poinsettia were placed on the altar. Candles and greens were placed in the window and provided a romantic feel to the service. The bride wore a winter white strapless dress with an apple red sash embellished with rhinestones. She carried a bouquet of cream hydrangea, cream roses, red roses, cream stock, white alstro, cypress and pine for the greens. Silver pinecones were placed in the bouquet for a bit of bling. Stems were finished in silver ribbon. The bridesmaid carried a bouquet of cream roses, red roses, alstro and greens. The jr. bridesmaid carried a kissing ball of silk red and cream roses. Touches of holly and silver curls were used to accent the holiday them. All of the men wore bouts. of red roses and Christmas green. Following the service there was a reception in the fellowship hall. Centerpieces were tall vases of red and silver Christmas balls with green placed around them. Candles were also used on the tables. The buffet table had a tall vase of the flowers carried by the bridal party. The cake table was simple with only Christmas greens and a few ornaments being used. There was a small table used by the exit in which fake snow was available to toss on bride and grooms departure. The table had a silk version of the brides bouquet placed on it to provide color.
Thank you for allowing me to share in your special day in the best holiday season of the year! Congratulations and best wishes.
New Year, New Trends
January 6, 2011 at 1:29 am (Uncategorized)
Welcome all newly engaged women out there. I offer my congratulations on your engagements. Starting a new year brings many changes in the bridal world. I will be discussing just a few of them here today so let’s get started!
Of course the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate will offer many glimpes into the new fashions and trends. Hair fascinators, bird cages and of course the awesome hats of all kinds will definitely be a hot trend of 2011. Engagement rings are already being turned out in similar style to Kate’s. All the talk is over what type of dress she will wear and who will her designer be? Can’t wait to see myself.
Vintage is in this year also. Vintage dresses are making a comeback this year on the runways. Ruffles, bustles and lace are all hot elements for this season. Bouquets naturally have to follow the same design themes and to achieve this look brides could use lace, pearls, vintage brooches and ruffle collars. Bouquets will be made from tight bunches of the same flower such as carnations, mums or baby’s breath. The stems will be finished by wrapping with printed ribbon or fabric. Some other flower choices might included hydrangea, peonies, roses or sweet pea with ivy or other soft greens. Color combos creating that vintage feel are creams, light green, pinks and maybe silver. Antique jewelry can be worn, placed on bouquets or even used on tables and even the wedding cake. Options are limitless.
The hot tropical colors are still in demand this year too. Hot pinks, oranges and bright greens can be used to make a definite statement about your wedding. They are colors of energy and fun. The more modern floral designs lend themselves perfectly to these colors. Brides might use orchids, roses, birds of paradise, belles of Ireland or calla lilies to bring out their vision of the day.
Earth tones and natural elements are also going to be popular in 2011. Many brides are choosing to go green on their special day. More and more options are becoming available to couples for their wedding day.
So no matter what your style or budget, there are many choices out there for you to choose from. Just take some time to look at your options and enjoy planning your wedding day!
